Canadian, pioneer of serious futures research and strategic foresight, networker and community developer, policy wonk, commentator and speaker.
My intellectual quest is to explore and understand the long evolution of human civilizations, consciousness and institutional patterns. On three occasions I have been asked to think through the "next" civilization -- once regarding social policy; once regarding environmental policy and once in an integral manner.
This work is required if my life's work is to be grounded -- finding and working with others to openly own the work of co-creating a humane and sustainable civilization. As I understand this generational project requires an evolution beyond any and all existing civilizations (at least on this planet).
How long have you been interested in integral perspectives and what sparked your interest?
Longer than I can remember. The roots include serious study of philosophy and systematic theology, with overlays of systems theory, humanistic psychology and the ontologies 7 epistemologies required to grasp the social construction of social realities.
Do you have specific integral practices? If so, what are they?
My life and work, as a work in progress. Alberta is my learning laboratory. We are making some progress (slow and mostly still below the surface) towards the conscious evolution of an Industrial society/economy into a self-critically, self-aware society/economy.
What kind of integral activities are you interested in seeing happen on this network?
Finding, getting to know and sharing insights with those whose quest and work overlaps mine to some significant degree.
Anything else you would like to share?
I welcome connections with folks who take the work seriously.
