This is radical but don't you find it odd that everyone on this planet eventually dies? I'm noticing health care claim to prolong life, if I had perfect health care how long would my life span increase? If I could avoid all accidents, if I could control aging, how long would I live for or what else could kill me?
We use everything we know to be true to make every decision we make. If this is correct then at the core our decisions are based on what we believe to be true. If our actions eventuall…

My much-anticipated copy of
Integral Ecology finally arrived in the mail the other day. I look forward to learn what Integral has to offer in the way of solutions for global climate change. Especially in light of controversial statements made by Ken Wilber over the years, which haven't been particularly helpful given the growing disconnect between the scientific community and public apathy for support of climate policies:
April 2003:
I believe that the first World Federation will li…

Part 1
There is a new Zeitgeist film (2009) called "Zeitgeist Movement Activist and Orientation". I will post the link below. First a few thoughts. The directionality of these films is in my view towards greater complexity and holism. This film for example, provides the viewer with what I would consider a truly beautiful vision (mostly realistic/scientific) of a future that is both of great heart (compassionate to the life on this planet) and great mind (cutting edge science and greater distinc…

Words that meet the criteria of “spiritual” can elicit a synthesis between people. Words like Ultimate, Is-ness, and Such-ness evoke the unknown relationship. Trans-personal language, by its very nature, points to higher realms, or a world that already exists yet is beyond recognition at this point. This level of inquiry can happen. Expression can arise between us evoking unity, collective participation, interest, and conscious inquiry. In such conversation, an individual’s contextual orientatio…

Hello Everyone!
Most of you know that I am the current leader of Integral Sedona and, in addition, that I have also have been working behind the scenes to help people who are attempting to organize integral groups in their part of the world. With help from some of the leadership folks from Sedona, I've set up a social network for integral organizers and started an organization called "integralP2Pinternational" (iP2Pi). I also just finished creating a website to showcase something that emerged i…

"A Soft Answer"
By Terry Dobson
A turning point in my life came one day on a train in the middle of a drowsy spring afternoon. The old car clanked and rattled over the rails. It was comparatively empty -- a few housewives with their kids in tow, some old folks out shopping, a couple of off-duty bartenders studying the racing form. I gazed absently at the drab houses and dusty hedge rows.
At one station the doors opened, and suddenly the quiet afternoon was shattered by a man bellowing a…

EDITOR'S COMMENT:
Most of you know that I have been a fan of all things integral for many years now, especially Ken Wilber's version.
What, exactly, is integral? How did it evolve? What does it have to do with our daily activities and spiritual practices? You can find a sweeping introduction to integral theory, practice and evolution posted on Integral NHNE:
Ken Wilber, Michael Murphy, and George Leonard discuss
Integral Transformative Practice (from Ma…

EXCERPTS:
NARRATOR: Temporal lobe epilepsy has one very unusual side effect. In a minority of patients it can induce religious hallucinations. These visions have led scientists to ask questions that have never been asked before. Rudi has always been a confirmed atheist, but even so, when he was 43 years old he had a powerful religious vision.
RUDI: I was lying on my bed in the wards in Crawley Hospital when suddenly it seemed to me that everything was changing. The room was sti…

Integral Quotes From Ken Wilber
& Elsewhere............
"In fact, at this point in history, the most radical, pervasive, and earth-shaking transformation would occur simply if everybody truly evolved to a mature, rational, and responsible ego, capable of freely participating in the open exchange of mutual self-esteem. There is the 'edge of history.' There would be a real New Age."--- Up From Eden, pg. 328

Before Ken Wilber came along, the Pathwork Lectures of Eva
Pierrakos provided the best, most inspired overview of personal growth and the spiritual path that I had ever come across. Along with being exceptionally "integral" in the way they view and encourage personal growth, the Pathwork Lectures are unique in terms of how much, and how clearly, they deal with shadow issues. To give you a taste of this remarkable material, I've included a few of my favorite quotes below. If you want to…
